Culture Integration

Unfortunately, the role and importance of culture in transformational change and organizational excellence is sometimes forgotten or consciously dismissed as “the soft stuff.”

But many respected leaders have warned – ignore culture at your own risk. Shortly after retiring as Chairman of IBM, Lou Gerstner wrote and said, “I came to see in my decade at IBM, that culture isn’t just one aspect of the game. It is the game.”

Likewise, George Eckes, the man who helped implement Six Sigma at General Electric, proposed in his book “Making Six Sigma Last” that the cultural component – if mastered by an organization – can drive quicker and more dramatic improvements in performance.

At Innolect, we think in terms of Culture Integration:

  • Bring the technical aspects of change together with the cultural aspects of change for a more effective change management effort

  • Develop Strategic Plans with a recognition of cultural realities

  • Blend cultures that differ by individual, team, function, division or company to come up with a stronger culture that works better

  • Spread and facilitate a change initiative in such a way that it is more easily adapted and absorbed into a culture

At Innolect, our knowledge, experience and skills in business management, communications, psychology, organizational behavior and industrial education give us a combined and unique Program Expertise in Culture Integration. Clients who engage us to address culture get accelerated results.

  • A CEO, hired from the outside, faced an immediate dilemma. His style varied dramatically from the previous CEO’s. He engaged Innolect Associates to help enroll the leadership team, guide the Strategic Planning process, and attempt A CEO’s Cultural Correction.

  • The President of a high-tech company looked at his Operations and Customer Service Divisions and concluded they were Two Cultures: Half-a-Mile Apart. Innolect Associates created the environment that made them one.

  • The Vice President of a Telecom used the word “disastrous” to describe initial efforts at process and culture integration following a merger. By Intervening in an Integration, Innolect Associates brought a new level of strategic thinking and discipline that moved the integration forward.
